Getting around

Travelling to and from campus

The Government recommends that if you can, walking or cycling is the best way to travel during the pandemic. These are also sustainable modes of transport. You can hire a bike from the university from £50 for three months with a £50 deposit.

There is limited pay and display parking available at both campuses if you are travelling by car. If you are using public transport to travel to campus please allow extra time as capacity is reduced to allow for social distancing. You must wear a face covering and follow Government guidance. Make sure you wash your hands before you travel and after.

Public transport

Both our campuses and halls of residences are well connected by public transport. The main City Campus buildings are between two and fourteen minutes walk from Leeds train station. Headingley campus is a fifteen minute walk from Headingley train station and Headingley Carnegie Pavilion and Stand are a twelve and eight minute walk from Headingley and Burley Park stations.

Route maps are available on First Buses website.

Bike hire contracts are for up to three months at a time. If you need the bike for longer you simply renew your contract online via the link we send out to you. You can usually keep your bike into the summer until we need them back for servicing in August. Masters students can keep bikes into September.
