international student arrival
Information on visas, self-isolation, arriving in the UK, starting your course, what support is available and more.
Information for international student arrival:
If you are a current student, you can find the latest information about returning to campus on our Coronavirus webpages. We will email all students if the guidance changes.
If you are planning to travel to Leeds for the start of your course in September 2021, please check back for recommended arrival dates nearer the time. Please also stay up-to-date on the UK Government's guidance for traveling abroad.
Self-isolation (quarantine) requirements
What you must do when you arrive in England from abroad depends on where you have been in the 10 days before you arrive. The UK Government has set out red, amber and green list rules for entering England. These categories determine whether or not you have to self-isolate and when you will need to provide a Covid-19 test.
Visit the Self-isolation guidance and support page to find out what you need to do, and what support packages are available based on whether you're coming from a red, amber or green list country.
your arrival experience
The first day, I arrived at Leeds Bradford airport and two international ambassadors were here waiting for me, they helped me with my (many) suitcases. They gave me kits with a lot of information about the university, the city and there was even a SIM card to call our family. They had booked a free taxi to drive me to my accommodation, it was really reassuring not to be on my own.
